WASHING OFF THE ENTRENCHED PATTERNS (Lavado de patrones arraigados)

THE ORCHID & THE WASP
This project of artistic research and participatory action began in the year 2020 in the Research Week with my post-master "Decolonizing Architecture" with DAAS at the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm, and it continues until today with interventions in different sites around the world . Washing of preconceived thoughts allows us to see the world with different eyes. The public is invited to write down their "subjective patterns" of behavior on pieces of clothes, wash them away with soap and water, and put them on a rope.
By washing away the conditioned patterns, this work helps us to recapitulate and see what is true in our lives...ask questions about condicional though and preconcibe words..
This participatory installation was placed in a container at the NDSM Amsterdam, The Netherlands, for the course of three consecutive months, with The Orchid & the Wasp curator Maud Onk. Thousands of recipes were collected in pieces of fabric from people of distant nationalities, genders and religions.
Este proyecto de investigación artística y acción participativa comenzó en la Semana de Investigación, del año 2020, con "Decolonizing Architecture Advance Course" -DAAS- en el "Instituto Real de Arte de Estocolmo" y continúa hasta el dia de hoy con intervenciones en diferentes países.
El lavado de pensamientos preconcebidos nos permite ver el mundo que nos rodea con otros ojos. Se invita al público a escribir sus "patrones subjetivos arraigados" en trapos de tela, para luego lavarlos con agua y jabón y atarlos a una cuerda. El trabajo de eliminar los patrones condicionados puede ayudarnos a adoptar otro punto de percepcion, mas alla del sistema Patriacal e Imperialista, para sumergirnos en otra conciencia donde, desde la diversidad, nos permitimos recapitular sobre lo que realmente es verdadero en nuestras vidas.
Esta instalación participativa se colocó en un contenedor en el NDSM Amsterdam, Países Bajos, durante tres meses consecutivos, en la muestra anual ‘Getting lost’ con la curadora de ‘The Orchid & the Wasp’ , Maud Onk. Miles de registros fueron recogidas en trozos de tela de personas de géneros, nacionalidades y religiones diversas que cruzaron su camino en este punto.
