La professora

“La Profesora”-The Teacher- is a portrait of my grandmother I made in Argentina just a year before she passed away. It was filmed in her house, which was also the place I lived my entire childhood. In an interview I made to her, she talked about her family, emigration from Italy to Argentina and her beloved profession as a teacher for more than 40 years. This portrait shows issues of the cultural situation of the country I am coming from, the new identity of the migrants coming from Europe to South-America. 

“La Profesora” es un retrato de mi abuela que hice en Argentina apenas un año antes de que falleciera. Fue filmado en su casa, que también fue el lugar donde viví toda mi infancia. En una entrevista que le hice habló de su familia, de la emigración de Italia a Argentina y de su querida profesión de docente desde hace más de 40 años. Este retrato muestra cuestiones de la situación cultural del país de donde vengo, la nueva identidad de los inmigrantes que vienen de Europa a Sudamérica.
